Unless you’re 300 pounds and 7 feet tall, that bike is way too heavy to off road,and the gearing is also way too long.

Also on the highway it’s undeniably good, but it’s way too wide on city roads.

Lots of money went to nothing useful, except to draw the attention (and ire) of everyone in traffic. Too lo ud, too heav y, too annoying.

The R1250 is more of a G-wagen. Very capable, but y ou can do the same for a lot less money, but also a lot less flash.

It depends on what you mean by “off-road”. You won’t be taking epic jumps or trailblazing, but plenty of people have used them to tour the world. For unimproved roads or in the desert, they are really hard to beat for the long haul.

most of the GS riders I know are not the kind to have something useless. GS’s aren’t useless like brodozers . In the states they are ridden by the most hardcore riders I know.

I associate bro- dozers with insecure male peacocking behavior. It’s pointless masturbation in automotive form with intent to draw the attention of a mate or other like minded individuals to join thei r clan.

The BMW GS, in all its forms, is actually a very capable machine and oftentimes the preferred device for those that need that capability. Yes it is expensive, so it draws the attention of a certain well funded consumer, but I don’t think people are buying GS Adventures to impress chicks and bros. It’s usually old dudes on a solo mission after retirement.
